Our School

Silver Spruce is a neighborhood school rooted in the EL Education model, serving students from Preschool through 5th grade. While Silver Spruce is a new school, it is built upon the rich histories, strong traditions, and deep sense of community that have long defined both Acres Green Elementary and Fox Creek Elementary.

What makes Silver Spruce truly special is that it was intentionally designed by the people who know our schools best. Over the course of more than a year, dedicated Come Together Teams, made up of teachers, staff, families, and students, worked side by side to envision and create our new school. Together, they thoughtfully examined the traditions, practices, values, and experiences that made both Acres Green and Fox Creek exceptional and asked one important question: How can we take the very best of both schools and create something even stronger together?

The result is Silver Spruce Elementary—a school built on the strengths, hopes, and dreams of two incredible communities. Silver Spruce is built upon the traditions and values of both schools, honoring the legacy of Acres Green and Fox Creek while creating a shared vision for the future. From our school culture and traditions to our learning experiences and leadership opportunities, Silver Spruce reflects the voices and contributions of those who helped shape it from the very beginning.

From the moment you walk through our doors, you'll experience the power of Crew. At Silver Spruce, Crew is more than a daily gathering—it is the foundation of our culture. We believe students learn best when they feel known, valued, and connected. Through meaningful relationships, collaboration, and shared responsibility, we create a community where every student has a place and every voice matters.

Our staff is committed to educating the whole child by balancing rigorous academics with character development, leadership opportunities, and social-emotional growth. We believe students are capable of extraordinary things when they are given meaningful work, strong support, and opportunities to contribute to something larger than themselves.

As an EL Education school, students engage in authentic learning experiences that connect classroom learning to the world around them. Through interdisciplinary studies, students investigate important topics, solve real-world problems, and create high-quality work that has purpose and meaning. Reading, writing, math, science, and social studies come together in engaging ways that help students develop deep understanding and lasting skills.

Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, reflect on their growth, and contribute positively to their community. Throughout the year, they share their learning through Celebrations of Learning, presentations, performances, and service projects that showcase both their academic growth and their impact on others.

We are excited to open our doors to students, families, and the community in August 2026. Together, we will continue the best of what Acres Green and Fox Creek have always represented while building new traditions, creating lasting memories, and shaping the future of Silver Spruce Elementary.
