Welcome to Silver Spruce

Silver Spruce Elementary is a new beginning built on two strong foundations. In Fall 2026, the communities of Acres Green Elementary and Fox Creek Elementary come together as one school, rooted in shared values and a deep commitment to students. While the name is new, the heart of this community is already here.

At Silver Spruce, we believe every student deserves to feel known, supported, and challenged. Our classrooms are places where curiosity is encouraged, relationships matter, and learning is meaningful. We are building a school culture that honors where we’ve been while creating something new together. With strong academic programming, expanded opportunities in specials like STEM and music, and a continued focus on whole-child support, Silver Spruce is designed to meet the needs of every learner.

This is more than a transition. It’s a chance to grow something even stronger, together.

A New Chapter for Our Community

About Our Transition

Silver Spruce Elementary was established in December 2025 when the Douglas County School District Board of Education approved the consolidation of Acres Green Elementary and Fox Creek Elementary. This transition brings together two dedicated school communities into one shared space at our Highlands Ranch campus. Our goal is to preserve what families value most from each school while expanding opportunities for students.

What families can expect:

  • Consistent, high-quality instruction and student support
  • Expanded programming in specials, including STEM and instrumental music
  • Strong special education, ELD, and gifted programming
  • Continued access to mental health and academic intervention services
  • Preschool expansion and before- and after-school care (BASE)

Both school leaders, Principal Cheryl Fullmer and Principal Kirsten Sola, will serve as co-principals during the 2026–2027 school year to support a thoughtful and connected transition. We know change can bring questions. Our commitment is to communicate clearly, listen closely, and build a school where every student and family feels they belong.
